Frequently Asked Questions
How are the predictions produced?
A data model is trained on statistics from previous results for greyhounds at a specific venue and distance. Only the top four grades over that distance are included. For example a model has been created for greyhounds at Walthamstow over 475m at grades OR, A1, A2 and A3. It was found that the races at the top four grades were more accuratley predictable.
What does the greyhounds score represent?
When the prediction model is trained a winning dog is given the score 100 and the greyhound finishing last is given the score 0. The model attempts to predict the future outcome with the same scores. So the higher the score the higher the system believes are the chances of the greyhound winning the race.
What are the best races to bet on?
It has been found in the past that races where one or two dogs have a significantly higher score than the rest of the field are worth backing. Punters should be aware that no system can ever accurately predict every individual race, the aim is to make predictions offering a statistical advantage over a period of races.
Two or more greyhounds have a prediction over 90 - what does this mean?
The statistics used in the predictions are relative to each other. The system produces the prediction value independently for each dog. Therefore the system can give the dogs a similar chance of winning. It may be a strategy to make a forecast or tri-cast bet on these dogs.
What statistics are used from previous results?
Only the last seven races the dog ran in are included in the statistics. Variables included in the model are fastest time, position at first corner, average time and grade average. Visitors are invited to Contact Us with any factors/ variables they believe are significant in any race outcome. The models are continuously being evolved and results will vary between venues and distances.
Why are some greyhounds missing/Why are there less than 6 greyhounds in a predicted race?
If previous results are not available for a greyhound it will be excluded from the races predictions. Previous results must be from a comparible venue and distance combination. If you believe a greyhound has been erroneously excluded please Contact Us and let us know the details.
